Advisory Thematic Group "Poverty eradication"  was established

The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation and the Center for Democracy Foundation organized a meeting within the project "Sustainable Development for All" Platform with the aim of forming the Thematic Group on Poverty Eradication.

The advisory thematic group was formed in order to improve the conditions for achieving Goal no. 1 The “World Without Poverty” of the SDG, by initiating a dialogue between key actors from the public, private and civil sectors.

The meeting was attended by representatives of decision-makers, experts in this field, representatives of civil society organizations and the media.

The conversation was opened by Natasa Vuckovic (Center for Democracy Foundation) and Ivona Gvozdenovic (Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation), and the meeting was attended by: Slavica Djukic Dejanovic (Special Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia for the 2030 Agenda); Biljana Djusić Radmilovic (National Program Officer at the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation - SDC - Swiss Cooperation Office Serbia); Ljiljana Lucic; Osman Balic (Roma League); Snezana Santic (Municipality Stari Grad Association of Pensioners), Marija Drazovic (Praxis, Kraljevo); Suzana Ilic (Association of Rome); Jovana Krivokuca Milovanovic (Youth with Disabilities Forum); Marija Jovanovic (Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation); Sarita Bradas, Milena Micovic Trajkovic (Center for Democracy Foundation), and others.

Members of the Thematic Group are also Nada Lazic (Ministry of Human and Minority Rights and Social Dialogue); Zarko Sunderic (Center for Social Policy); Marijana Lukovic (Praxis, Kraljevo); Tamara Skroza (journalist).

The discussion focused on the selection of topics and the development of the Action Plan of the Thematic Group "Poverty Eradication", Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030, public policy documents, cooperation with relevant actors from local communities, social inclusion, social policy and social protection, provision of social services on local level, support programs for vulnerable groups, the most important problems of Roma, pensioners, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. It was emphasized that, in addition to a very good normative framework in this area, there are great challenges in the implementation in practice, and employment was pointed out as a key problem.
